If iPhoneDevCamp has a date, someone should update the wiki. It still says 1Q2008, which obviously didn't happen.

I'd like to request that y'all not have social media camp in early November. There's an ELECTION going on, and Faith Blogging is already too close to it for my preferences.

Unfortunately, it looks like I'm going to have to miss ConvergeSouth & Blogher in addition to BarCamp - but I'll see y'all at one or two of these events...

While Jak's ideas are good I feel we'd be more listening to their stuff than discussing our own. Which while I am sure is worthwhile does not seem to coordinate well unless we all want to stay tweeting fully while at such an event hehehe.

CF's ideas are spot on how are you using it, good moment to use other people as bounce boards and the standard networking fare. The locations mentioned are all accommodating, the library also offers rooms for non profits so that's always an avenue as well.

Looking forward to it after missing last time.

prices are set for $10 for non-members for this event. if i could get it to be $5 for CLTwitter folk would it be worth it or is a free event the norm?

Not sure if it will work well or not, because it will likely have a $5-$10 entry fee, but the Ad Club and Ad2 are hosting an event that night at Morehead Tavern, 6pm-8pm. One of the guys from BrainsonFire.com is speaking on their recent EFFIE award-winning case study, Rage Against the Haze, SC's youth-led anti-tobacco use movement. @Ben I'm sorry - I corrected your name above. I'm right there with you - just turned off my Twitter IM's for a few hours so I can get some reports out. But you're right it's always nice to find out how people are using different media like Twitter and how it's useful to them.

Great writeup, great event! The bar was open, the apps were delish, the conversations were stimulating. I think I only talked to about 1/3 of the people there, but managed to find almost all of the Twitterers. I've been a sporadic and unenthusiastic user of Twitter for awhile, but having an event and a group of people to focus it on took it to another level! Amazing.
I hope to post some notes & thoughts soon. Kinda bummed that I actually have work I need to do... we'll see how that goes...

Thanks to Scott (@capitalfellow) for pointing this out - Target's mantra was "Democratize Design" not "Democratic Design" - making design available to the masses. I kinda rearranged some letters there and altered his meaning. So I updated that in the post.
